GRAN TURISMO SPORT – The range of Porsche Cayennewhich recently underwent a mid-career makeover (here to find out more), is enriched by the version GTS, available with both SUV and SUV-coupé body styles. Fans of the Zuffenhausen company know well that this acronym GTS means Gran Turismo Sport and is intended to be a meeting point between dynamism, sportsmanshipdriving pleasure and comfort.
ROUND NUMBER – Under the hood of the Porsche Cayenne GTS we find the 4-liter twin-turbo V8 which, thanks to the modifications, is capable of delivering 500 HP, 40 HP more than the previous Cayenne, with a torque of 660 Nm and an increase of 40 Nm. In combination with the V8 we find the Tiptronic S eight-speed which promises shorter shift times in Sport and Sport Plus modes. All this translates into a 0-100 in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 275 km/h.
SOPHISTICATED SUSPENSION – The specific chassis for the bike ensures adequate dynamic qualities Porsche Cayenne GTS, duly refined with a ride height reduced by 10 mm. The car is equipped with adaptive air suspension as standard and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (distributes torque between the wheels depending on driving conditions). The two-valve shock absorber technology and two-chamber air suspension should ensure comfort and handling. Optional the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), the “brain” that controls the entire chassis of the SUV and the systems associated with it. The bearings on the front axle, which are derived from the Cayenne Turbo GT (a model not available in Europe), increase the negative camber of the wheels by 0.58 degrees compared to other Cayenne variants. The result should be greater driving precision.
A FEW TOUCHES DIFFERENTIATE IT – Aesthetically the Porsche Cayenne GTS, in addition to the black GTS writing on the sides and rear of the car, features a specific front end with larger cooling air intakes, darkened headlights and taillights and red brake calipers. Body elements, such as the side skirts, front inserts, side window trim and wheel arch extensions, which are all part of the standard Sport Design package, are done in high-gloss black. The tailpipes of the sports exhaust system, previously in black, are now finished in a dark bronze tone. The design is completed by 21-inch RS Spyder design wheels, finished in anthracite grey.
SPORTS ACCENTS – The interior of the Porsche Cayenne GTS they feature a heated GT sports steering wheel and Race-Tex material, which was used for the interior. Suede fabric covers the headliner, armrests and door panels, as well as the center panels of the eight-way adjustable sports seats. Alternatively, two GTS-specific interior packages are available in Carmine Red or Slate Grey. Being based on the recently updated Cayenne, we find the new curved digital instrument panel, Bose surround sound system and ambient lighting package.
WELL EQUIPPED – They complete the standard equipment of the Porsche Cayenne GTS the fixed panoramic glass roof and an adaptive extendable rear spoiler. Optional sports exhaust system with central tailpipes in dark bronze. This type of equipment is available in three different sports packages, which also include a specific roof and a carbon rear diffuser, as well as reduced insulation. Depending on the equipment, Lightweight packages can reduce the weight of the vehicle by up to 25 kilograms.
