Nintendo has released a new update for the Nintendo Switch system softwareto be precise the 18.0.1 updatewhich is now available to download and install for all console owners.
Considering the more than 7 years of Switch’s honorable career, it is better not to expect big news or upheavals from the system updates and the one published today does not represent an exception to the rule.
Specifically, the information on the official Nintendo website talks about unspecified stability interventions to improve the gaming experience and the resolution of a problem issue that prevented some wireless access points from being discovered when setting up a wireless network. For completeness we report below the notes of the complete update:
- Fixed an issue where some wireless access points were not discovered when setting up a new wireless network.
- If you are unable to update to 18.0.1 due to this issue, temporarily change your wireless network security settings to use WPA2 (AES) only. This will allow you to connect to the wireless network to download and install system updates.
- Once the update to version 18.0.1 is installed, restore your previous security settings.
- General stability improvements to improve the gaming experience.
