Sapphire Nitro+ B650I Wi-Fi: a great motherboard that we may never see in Europe

Sapphire presented its new motherboard Nitro+ B650I Ultra Platinumheir to the previous model based on the chipset B550. Many updates, starting from socket AM5 which can accommodate the processors AMD Ryzen 7000 and 8000 series and, in all likelihood, the future generation of architecture-based CPU Zen 5.

If in our market Sapphire is known above all for video cards based on AMD Radeon chips, for the Asian market it represents an all-round supplier that boasts in its portfolio motherboards, chassis and cooling systems. Nothing that includes high-end or enthusiast solutions, but solutions that all in all are quite interesting and accessible.

The Nitro+ B650I Ultra Platinum follows this philosophy, offering a gaming motherboard in format Mini-ITX, also ideal for space-saving builds. Given the dimensions of the motherboard, PCIe x16 slots are reduced to one with PCIe 4 protocol. Also unique is the slot for NVMe SSDs, PCIe 4, which has a Heatsink with a particular design that reflects the lines of the motherboard.

RAM memory slots allow you to install two banks with a maximum speed of 6000+ MT/s through support at AMD EXPO. The maximum amount of memory supported is equal to 64GBwhich excludes support for new high-density modules.

The board is based on an 8-layer PCB and can rely on 8+2 power phases with Dr. Mos da 70A and controlled by an XDPE 192C3B PWM IC. The power module is cooled by a heat sink positioned near the I/O panel.

Regarding the I/O panel, the board offers two USB 2.0 ports and four USB 3.2 Gen 2 (2 x 5 Gbps and 2 x 10 Gbps) to which a port is added USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2 (20Gbps). There are two video outputs, one HDMI it’s a DisplayPort ideal for those wishing to install one Ryzen 8000 APU. There is a LAN port (presumably 1G) and there is no shortage Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 6 supported by a dual-band antenna.

The card has a price of approx $230 and, at least for the moment, it is available exclusively for the Chinese market. As mentioned at the beginning, will probably remain confined to the Asian marketalthough it also appears interesting for ours.
