Bethesda has closed its French division

According to what was reported by the French streamer Desastre, specialized in The Elder Scrolls Online and the Fallout series, Bethesda has closed his French wing definitively. The news has not been confirmed by Bethesda, but considering the streamer’s knowledge within the company, with which he has collaborated for years, we can practically take it for granted.

The streamer’s message

Bethesda’s French team wasn’t involved in development

“You certainly saw it coming, but it’s the end for Bethesda’s offices in France,” wrote Desastre, who wanted to publicly say goodbye to “people without whom I wouldn’t be where I am now.”

“With regard to TESO, in 10 years I have met all the CMs. I’ve been to the offices many times and met really nice people and had unique moments for a player like me.”

Desastre then thanked the internal people at Bethesda’s French offices, going very personal, describing those fired as “really fantastic people, always available, really very nice”. For this reason he said he was saddened by the way the studio was closed, i.e. in general silence: “We lowered the curtain and that was it, and we turned off the power. tenth anniversary of TESO celebrated in Amsterdam, none of the French team was present. Now we understand why, but it’s a shame.”

Desastre’s message concludes with the wish for those who have lost their jobs to recover as quickly as possible, a wish which we can only endorse.
