Google Pixel 8a more expensive than the 7a: price rumors

We now know (almost all) the main aspects of the Pixel 8a, from the technical characteristics to the purely aesthetic ones. We know, for example, that it will be equipped with a Tensor G3 processor and that it will have a design that closely recalls the “rounded” one of the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro. There is “only” one piece missing before the presentation: the price. Now, perhaps, we have that too.

The information comes from overseas, precisely from Canada: according to the source – a local retailer – the version from 128GB it will cost 709 dollars Canadians (484 euros), the 256GB one 793 Canadian dollars (542 euros). Please note that local taxes must be added to these, so the final price will be even higher.

Let’s make a comparison with the official prices of the Pixel 7a and Pixel 8/8 Pro at launch.

Note: We took prices in Canada into consideration to try to standardize the results as much as possible. Considering that the Pixel 7a is only available in the 128GB format, let’s compare the prices of the versions with this amount of internal memory):

• Pixel 7a: 599 Canadian dollars (409€)
• Pixel 8: 949 Canadian dollars (648€)
• Pixel 8 Pro: 1,349 Canadian dollars (921€)
• Pixel 8a: 709 Canadian dollars (484€)

Essentially, the Pixel 8a appears to be destined to cost more than its predecessor 7a. If the rumor were confirmed, we would find ourselves faced with a significant price increase, i.e. 110 Canadian dollars, equal to approximately 75 euros.
