a simple and innovative city eBike

The engine of the new Decathlon eBike

First of all, the engine of the LD 920 E. It is an engine built in collaboration with the Belgian start-up E2 Drives, and takes the name of OWURU, equipped with exclusive all-in-one technology. Let’s see what that means. This dual-motor system combines responsive electric assistance with stepless automatic transmission. This innovation offers an infinite number of gears without having to put your hand on the gearbox. Which in fact isn’t there.

the beating heart of the Decathlon eBike was born from the work of a startup

The engine of the LD 920 E therefore constantly adapts its gear ratio automatically and continuously to the terrain we are on and the speed at which we are pedaling. The bike reacts quickly and smoothly to even the smallest movements of the pedals. Decathlon’s idea is that by not having to change gear, each pedal stroke is smoother, safer and more fun with a maximum declared autonomy of 150 km on a single charge.

motor and battery work well hidden

The motor of the Decathlon LD 920 E eBike can be found in central position and is equipped with CVT (Continuous Variation Transmission). The same as some hybrid cars.

Different running and battery modes

With this engine you can choose between 4 assistance modes. Mode 0 deactivates all help and the bike can still be used. With mode 1 (Economic +100% assistance) the autonomy is increased while preserving the battery (autonomy up to 150 km). In mode 2 called Standard with 180% assistance the declared autonomy drops to 110 km. in mode 3 Boost there is +370 and autonomy up to 80 km.
