Recently – as we reported – a report emerged indicating that Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War (i.e. the next chapter of the Activision saga) will be presented in June in an Xbox Game Showcase. A new report by Tom Henderson corroborated this, also adding that Older Call of Duty games are coming to Game Pass.
According to Henderson, with the finalization of last year’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Microsoft is “preparing” for a announcement regarding the addition of older Call of Duty games to Game Pass in June.
In all likelihood, if such an announcement is made, it will concern the majority old Call of Duty chaptersnot this year’s nor the more recent ones yet purchased and widely played.
Game Pass and Activision/Blizzard
A first “step” by Activision Blizzard on Game Pass has already taken place, given that Diablo 4 arrived at the end of March, which also made Xbox the platform with the most active players on the video game.
With regard to call of Duty, in 2022 – before the acquisition was approved – it was stated that Call of Duty would not come to Game Pass for “a number of years” as there was an agreement between PlayStation and Activision Blizzard. However, we know that the agreement will expire this year, so it is possible that some games will finally arrive on Microsoft’s service.
