The Virtual Analysis team conducted tests on the dynamic simulator while the Powertrain Calibration team managed the development of the Neptune thruster that we find under the hood of the sports car. The experience related to the development of the Maserati MC20, alongside the extensive testing of the engine on the bench and the characterization of each component, has guaranteed the maximum accuracy of the new simulations which have allowed us to reach the testing phases on the track with a car already in excellent condition. conditions. The correct correlation with what was validated on the simulator was therefore verified, proposing only fine tuning activities on the track.
The MCXtrema benefited from an extensive virtual testing phase thanks to approximately 200 hours of development conducted on the Maserati dynamic simulator or over 1000 hours of virtual analysis on various types of simulations. All this was then compared with the feedback coming from the track, also in accordance with the four years of previous development conducted on the Maserati MC20 alongside the engine reliability checks further enhanced. In this way the Maserati MCXtrema has become the sports car capable of guaranteeing the best result in terms of advanced engineering and innovation, among those in the current price list of the Trident Manufacturer, supported by an important stylistic approach shaped by the Maserati Style Center which has function combined with form by virtue of efficient aerodynamic research at the right point for every use on the track.
According to the test driver, Andrea Bertolini, at the center of the excellent results recorded in the simulations and on the track is the important team work “which translates into a sports car of the future”.
