Another blow in perspective for Futura Volley, which adds a new piece to its bench, under the banner of the green line but with a lot of talent and cheek. The name is that of Federica Baratella, libero born in 2006 who arrives in Busto Arsizio with a heavy suitcase in terms of successes at youth level. Originally from Varese, Federica held the role of starting libero in the Under 16 and Under 17 national teams that medaled at the European Category Championships and returns home after two seasons with the shirt of the Apulian club of Cutrofiano.

In the 2021/2022 season comes the call-up with the Italian Under 16 team for the WEVZA U16 tournament played in Chiavenna which ended with Italy winning and the individual prize for best libero of the event. Participation in the European Championships in Slovakia is worth the silver medal. Then comes the call-up to the Under 17 national team to participate in the WEVZA category tournament in Belgium where he gets the gold medal. At the following European Championship in the Czech Republic, Baratella climbed to the top step of the podium, winning the gold medal.
Raised in the Amatori Orago youth academy, the player from Varese stands out for her completeness on a technical level, being effective both in reception and in defense. Federica thus completes the freestyle department alongside Giada Cecchetto, with whom she will form a perfectly matched couple between experience and youth.

Federica spoke like this about her next club: “They have always spoken well to me about Futura in terms of the club, the environment and the technical staff. I will play close to home and this influenced my choice. In his youth career with Orago, the challenges with Futura were always fought and awaited. I remember, in particular, the provincial semi-final of the Under 14 championship, when we lost the first leg 3-2 with a lot of controversy for a touch on a ball in the fifth set. It was a heartfelt but healthy rivalry, we all knew each other and off the pitch there was a great friendship.” Then speaking of her department partner: “Giada Cecchetto will be a point of reference from which to take inspiration to improve and grow. It will certainly be educational to be encouraged by someone older than me, not only by her but also by her other classmates. I certainly won’t limit myself to my little backyard, I want to grow and have fun.”
