Last weekend the Misano circuit saw the debut of the World Championship dedicated to womenbut already on lap 6 the paddock found itself holding its breath for an accident that occurred at turn 16 and which saw Mia Rusthen as the unfortunate protagonist.

Immediately taken to the medical center of the track, in the ambulance that arrived at the site of the fall, the Norwegian pilot was later airlifted to the Bufalini Hospital in Cesena where, following investigations, he was found to have a concussion, as well as polytrauma.

According to an official message, released in the hours immediately following the event by the family, the 22-year-old was apparently induced into a pharmacological coma and underwent surgery to relieve intracranial pressure and eliminate hemorrhage.

A new update on the Scandinavian’s health arrived today: “Conditions continue to be stable, which is why she could leave Italy in the next few days to be transferred to Norway, subject to approval by the medical staff”, the note reads.
