Euro2024, the 67 blue ultras arrested before Italy-Albania released, but it doesn’t end there: here’s what they risk

The 67 Italian ultras were released today stopped by the German police in Dortmund yesterday before the debut match of the Italian national team against Albania for the alleged possession of knives, paper bombs and – as usual – passes mountains. Although they are now freed, the supporters continue to be investigated and further sanctions such as the Daspo cannot therefore be ruled out.

The reason for the arrest of the 67 ultras

Before Luciano Spalletti’s winning debut against Albania, 67 Italian ultras were stopped in Dortmund by the police because they were considered the owners of the paraphernalia – consisting of balaclavas, knives and paper bombs – found by the police, according to which the objective of the Italian supporters was to clash with the Albanian fans . To identify them, the contribution of the Italian policewhich also included eight experts from our local fans, sent by our country to help the German fans maintain public order during the European Championship.

Free yourself today in Dortmund

Today the 67 ultras were freed because it was not possible to trace the previously mentioned paraphernalia back to them. The Azzurri supporters, associated with a far-right group that has roots throughout the peninsula and which calls itself the “Ultras of Italy”, can therefore circulate without problems in Germany at the moment, even if they have been advised to return to their homeland.

What do they risk now?

Some of the ultras, however, are still at risk for possible complaints and referrals to the judicial authorities, while for all 67 there is the risk of administrative arrests such as the Daspo, which prohibits entry into stadiums. The German authorities are still investigating them with the help of the Italian authorities. One of the hypotheses at the moment is that the fans met in Dortmund to clash.
