“7th City of Valdobbiadene Grand Prix” race valid as “7th round of the Provinces Tournament 1st series”.
The Valdobbiadene DOCG hosts the Venetian Provinces Tournament
The 7th City of Valdobbiadene Grand Prix took place on 15 June 2024, a valid test for the 1st series Provinces Tournament, with over 200 participants battling it out on the challenging undulating route which will be a candidate for the Italian Road Championship in a few editions. Excellent organization led by President Paolo Agnolazza, race direction entrusted to Renzo Ferrati and Acsi Treviso judges once again impeccable.
Agreement between Benedetti and Pagnin
In the SGA and GB race, solitary arrival of three riders, Silvestri Marco Team Stocchetti raises his hands first in the GB category while they agree and there is no sprint between Benedetti Tiziano Team Iperlando and Pagnin Roberto VC Due Torri, the latter is satisfied with the points of the Tournament, group sprint won by Luigino Zanetti over Mauro Pasqual who was particularly unlucky at the start of the race and was the victim of a fall which saw him recover about 1 minute. Note of merit for Bonetto and Tassetto immediately on the attack, both good.
Paolo Puggia among the SG B
At each lap he takes charge of setting the pace on the climb and in the end he deserves to win, throughout the race the 5 of them attack and in the end Pellizzer, Bettin, Feltre and Santamaria arrive with a 1 minute advantage over the group led by Maracani.
Giulia Baldin the best among women
There was no Italian revenge, Giulia Baldin won the sprint over the timeless Luisa De Lorenzo Poz and Giorgia Busato, off the podium Venusia Carpentieri (now leader of the Provinces Tournament) followed by Busetto and Puiatti.
Among the young people Milani stands out
Imperial sprint for Gianluca Milani Team Forty Caselle with a race at 45 km/h, impossible to escape, second overall Daniele Zuanon who wins for his Senior B category.
Igor Zanetti unbeatable
Daniotti and De Mauri attack immediately and remain in the lead for 20 km, on the third lap Filippi, Fabris, Zanetti, Zabeo follow, it seems done, a large number of Costas who in the company of Lenarduzzi on the 4th lap return like lightning to the leading group , less than 20 km from the end, the Italian champion Fabris leaves in the company of Filippi and Zanetti, uncatchable, a final that sees Zanetti tame the 2 Iperlandos and reach the square in Valdobbiadene with arms raised. Sprint of the group won by a lively Zabeo over De Mauri and Gava, among the Gentleman A Buso wins over Daniotti and Costa.
