After Makurat’s announcement, today’s new face still speaks foreign, and more precisely Swedish: Elin Gustavsson he moved to GEAS, returning to the Italian championship after a year. The Scandinavian winger brings centimeters, physicality and experience to a roster that has so far been based on the green line, thanks also to the experience gained in Europe having played in cups. His signing adds versatility and unpredictability to the Rossoneri group, which can thus truly be said to be deep and complete in every department, ready to face a year in which it will fight on all fronts to get as far as possible.

Born in ’93, Swedish from Hoja, Elin started early in Sweden first with Brahe and then with Sallen. The key moment was her transfer to college, more precisely to Colorado State, a four-year period that saw her grow year after year, until she ended the last season with a 15 + 7 average per lace-up average. Having returned to Europe, she chose Spain as a base, first at Bembimbre and then at Sedis, with which she also participated in the Eurocup. After a brief interlude in Charleroi, she finally explodes in Saint-Amand, where the scouts of Sassari notice her. She arrived on the island in the 22/23 season, formed a complete and close-knit wing department with Makurat, and closed an excellent season with an average of 13 and 7 rebounds: twice at 29, against Faenza and Lucca.
He played last season in Lublin, also playing in the Euroleague and maintaining important figures.

Gustavsson’s arrival is the icing on the cake for coach Zanotti, who comments as follows: “An expert player, she was one of the best rebounders in the Euroleague. Elin is intelligent, perfect for our long-distance work. We couldn’t have chosen better!”
Elin instead introduces herself to the new fans like this: “I am super excited to be back in the Italian league and especially with GEAS. I’ve only heard good things about the club and I’m looking forward to having a great season together!”
