Lewis Hamilton has clarified what Ferrari will look like in 2025: will the Scuderia wear a black livery to honor the seven-time world champion?
THE Lewis Hamilton’s relationship with Ferrari could extend well beyond the track: the Scuderia will adopt one black livery? Already in the past, the Mercedes he had worn this color.
It happened in 2020when during the championship, the world champion persuaded the Silver Arrows to dress in black to launch a strong message against racism. This shade remained the following year too, then in 2022 the silver color that we all know returned. This year, the frame design is a combination of the two colors.
According to some, Lewis Hamilton could try to convince Ferrari to adopt a black livery for his first year with the team. The Brit spoke on the topic on the eve of the last Canadian Grand Prix, clarifying some points.
The Mercedes driver has hinted that his relationship with president John Elkann is more likely to manifest itself off the track. However, he did not rule out the possibility of a change of color for the iconic Maranello team: “I haven’t driven a black car in a while. I probably won’t push for something like that too soon.”
Hamilton is clear that there was a lot of discussion with the Ferrari president about his “impact” on a human level. “THEo and John we will work closely with Mission 44 and everything related to them.” Reiterating the concept that Formula 1 and sport in general “must continue to do more”Lewis is convinced that “on the outside” he and Ferrari will do “quite a lot together, so it’s really exciting.”
Hamilton’s comments come after the FIA’s proposal to push for “distinguishable” liveries to make the cars recognized by the public.
