Revolution in Formula 1 where the FIA is ready with the new rules, which have already sparked a reaction from Hamilton
There FIA is preparing to completely revolutionize the world of motoring and last Thursday announced what will be the new regulations starting from 2026.
The International Automobile Federation has announced that there will be important changes, especially regarding the cars and their technical characteristics. In particular, the design will have to be different from the current one and the single-seaters will have to be modified in terms of weight, power and aerodynamics.
Through simulators, some drivers have already had the opportunity to test what will be the new cars that will have to take to the track in 2026. Both the weight and dimensions of the single-seaters, as revealed by the FIA, will be slightly reduced, modifying the aerodynamics which will allow greater acceleration on a straight line, but less speed when cornering.
Furthermore, the power will be produced in equal parts both from the combustion engine and from the electrical part of the car and there will be a decrease in aerodynamic drag by 35% to 30%. Changes, these, which have not entirely gone down well Lewis Hamilton who was hesitant about this revolution.

Despite not having tested the new type of car studied by the FIA on the simulator, the English driver rejected this revolution, underlining how those who tested the cars on the simulator let him know that everything was quite slow. Hamilton then expressed his doubts regarding the new rules, without however losing hope: “We’ll see if we’re going in the right direction or not. In terms of sustainability, especially regarding the powertrain, I think it’s a very ambitious step and I think it’s going in the right direction“.
The English driver finally declared how the most important thing to do is to improve the quality of the races and this can be made possible by the efficiency of the cars: “We just need to make sure the cars are efficient, fast and a natural step forward, and that the racing gets better.” he commented, hoping that Formula 1 can finally take a further step forward in the near future.
