Women’s volleyball: for pregnant athletes there are two funds equal to 1,500 euros

Pregnant volleyball athletes can receive a financial contribution of up to 1,500 euros per month. It is a mix between two funds: the first assigned by the Department of Sport, which reports to the Presidency of the Council, and provides for the disbursement of 1,000 euros per month for a maximum of 12 months; the second is called “Motherhood belongs to everyone” and was established by the Italian Volleyball Federation (Fipav) and awards 500 euros per month to the pregnant athlete (for 12 months thanks to a 2024 resolution).

The Fipav fund was established in 2022 with the aim “of integrating the contribution already assigned by the Department of Sport at the Presidency of the Council, in order to ensure the athlete’s salary continuity during the pregnancy period and immediately following the birth of their children” .

THE requirements: first of all it is necessary to have been admitted to the list of beneficiaries of the Department of Sports fund, given that the two funds are interdependent on each other. Then it is necessary to be registered for the Women’s Serie A and B Championships. Athletes from C onwards are excluded.

Here are the details of the Department for Sport’s current “Maternity support for mothers” procedure.
