“Carpegna is enough for me” he smiles again at Furiasse. Despite important concomitances, one above all the Italian Championships in distant Sicily, the 16th edition of “Il Carpegna mi Basta” was a great success, with an extraordinary number of participants, over 500. Many subscribers to the Tour 3 Regions and Bike Tour Coppa Marche, other true regulars of the Carpegna race, others still at their first time, intending to discover the charm of the race but also of the area, to breathe the atmosphere of a territory that the epic of a cycling champion like Marco Pantani made immortal. The winner over 42 km for 1,800 meters was Nicola Furiasse (Biking Racing Team) who repeated the success of the last edition in 1h50’40”. Giacomo Sbrocca (Mondobici) finished 1’03” behind, while Luca Cacchi (Bad Team) was 1’55” late at the finish. Off the podium were Lorenzo Pierpaoli (Team Cingolani) at 3’08” and Alex Pelucchini ( Bravi Platforms Team) at 4’24“. Among the women, success for Chiara Tassinari (Teamessere) who in 2h26’00“ prevailed by 1’57“ over Angela Campanari (Bravi Platforms Team) and by 8’55“ over Barbara. Genga (Mondobici). The organizing company Carpegna Experience also went beyond expectations. The choice to bring the race back to its original period proved to be a good one.
