Perez, what’s going on?

Thanks to a good start to the championship, with three doubles completed in the first four races, Sergio Perez he managed to secure a contract renewal with Red Bull. An unexpected result, considering the crisis of results that had hit him last year, when he had stumbled upon a long series of more than disappointing qualifications.

However, the scenario seems to repeat itself again this season, with the 34-year-old Mexican who seems to have once again fallen into a negative moment, given that in Imola he only qualified 11th – being eliminated in Q2 – and in Monte Carlo and Montreal he managed to do even worse – with the 16th place and suffering the sensational cut even in Q1.

Marko’s analysis

As we know, Helmut Marko he is not exactly Sergio Perez’s first fan and has often dedicated decidedly biting comments to him. And so it also happened on the sidelines of the Canadian qualifications, to the microphones of Servus TV: “It’s not a problem with the car, you can see it with Max. I think it’s more psychological. He came close (upon passage to Q2, ed.), but it’s already the third time and it’s painful.”
