Rude awakening for Ferrari, which after the Monegasque idyll fell into Canadian hell. The Maranello team was the author of a disastrous qualification: both red cars were sensationally eliminated in Q2 with Leclerc eleventh and Sainz twelfth. The two will try a difficult comeback trying to take advantage of the excellent pace shown on Friday.
Ferrari’s comeback could be favored by a “crazy” race: the weather forecasts are very variable and threatening. Furthermore, the track historically favors large recoveries, given the various overtaking possibilities present along the entire route.
George Russell will start in pole position, who will start ahead of Max Verstappen. The Briton managed to capitalize on the big step forward made by Mercedes by winning the second Pole of his career.
