On the evening of May 31st a challenge was played between rugby players over 30 (on one side) and rugby players under 30 (on the other) in Terni, in the San Valentino facility.

Born almost as a joke, the idea of the Ternana Rugby Club board of seeing all the Ternana rugby players on the pitch in one evening slowly took shape until it became a real event.

The rumble through telephone and social media has affected practically all those who have stepped onto the rugby pitches wearing the red and green shirt.

And so there were almost fifty players who first gave life to a challenge on the pitch, played in three twenty-five minute halves and then, during the third half, they found themselves celebrating and talking about many news and projects.

As far as the actual challenge on the field is concerned, the over 30s made the most of their experience in the first half.

The second and third half were fiery in a match which, thanks also to the warmth of the crowd present, seemed more like a final than a simple friendly. The result remained essentially in balance until the last 20 minutes when the younger (and larger) team, thanks to good physical preparation, took home the victory 22-12.

And before leaving the playing field, a circle could not be missing that brought together all the players who took to the pitch for a shout of “DRA-GHI” which echoed majestically among the buildings and houses around the facility.
