It is decided who will be the opponent of the winner between Jannik Sinner and Grigor Dimitrov in the re-edition of last season’s quarter-final, which saw the clear victory of the Spaniard who struggled only in the 3rd set, finishing 6-2, 6-1, 7-6(5). Not that in the previous 5 meetings between the two there was much more fighting, the Greek has won just 3 partials in the past five matches with the number 3 in the virtual world. Who knows, maybe the champion from Monte Carlo will be able to reverse this fact which is so alarming for him.
Alcaraz left the 3rd part of the match with Jesper on the way De Jong2nd round match, and then he was almost perfect in the matches against Sebastian Korda and Felix Auger–Aliassime, legitimizing his role as co-favorite of the Parisian Slam. The Greek however overcame Fucsovics in the 1st round and had enough problems to defeat Daniel Altmaier. In that match Tsitsipas was down a break in the 4th set, before winning it in a comeback. Then there was the agile victory over Zhang and then the painful comeback against Matteo Arnaldiwho had 4 set points to go two sets to zero and ended up conceding the crumbs in the 3rd and 4th sets.
