Libertas, Tiozzo is here. «A special place» returns after eight years

«Well yes, I’m going back to Cantù!». In the words of Nicola Tiozzo, spiker born in 1993 recently signed by Pool Libertas Cantù, there is all the satisfaction of a player who had already been in the City of Furniture in the 2015-2016 season. Venetian from Chioggia, 198 centimeters tall, Tiozzo will return to wear the Libertas shirt this year, an important addition for the club headed by president Ambrogio Molteni which goes in the direction of a re-foundation of the team in view of the next championship A2 men’s volleyball series.

«I am very happy – says the spiker of Venetian origin – to return after eight years: my special relationship with the city and society played a role in the choice, as well as the proximity to home. From a certain point of view it’s strange to return to a different age and after having come a long way: I return with different awareness both on a technical and team level.”

The Cantù market therefore comes to life and does so with a player of guaranteed reliability, ready to make his knowledge of the category available to confirm the good things done by Libertas over time. This year too, the cadet tournament will make its weight felt, with many companies ready to invest to strengthen their respective rosters and the feeling that, year after year, the bar is increasingly raised in terms of quality and spectacularity.

«In recent years the championship has been increasingly difficult, with a level that has increasingly risen. I also expect the next one to be higher. Three-four teams have equipped themselves very well and will aim to win, then there is another set of teams who will try everything to get into the playoffs. I think our team will be able to do well, but it is a new team: initially we will think by objectives, and the first ones will be to get to know each other at group level for alchemy and cohesion”, continues the new Libertas striker.

Having changed the technical line with the arrival of Alessandro Mattiroli, a good part of the staff will also change, which Cantù will reveal piece by piece, making their faces and roles official. There is no declared objective to set as a goal, but rather the desire to do well and aim as high as possible: «I aim to reconfirm myself as an experienced player given that it will be my eleventh year in Serie A. I come from a positive season, I carry with me many good feelings. I will try to help those with less experience as much as possible.”
