CASTIGLIONE DELLA PESCAIA – Weekend dedicated to sport in Castiglione della Pescaia with the finals of the Italian Roller Hockey Championship and the BT200 International Beach Tennis Tournament. From 23 to 26 May, ten teams from all over Italy will meet at the Casa Mora Sports Hall to compete in an exciting competition that will see young Italian roller hockey talents compete for the title of Under 15 national champions. The team of HC Castiglione della Pescaia, coached by Massimo Bracali and Federico Paghi, has excellent chances of placing having won their group. The qualifiers will be played on Thursday and Friday, with the classic round-robin all-against-all, then the quarter-finals on Saturday and the semi-finals and finals on Sunday.
The following weekend, from 30 May to 2 June, the finals of the Italian Under 13 Championship will be played.
Also from 23 to 26 May, the Piazzale Maristella area on the Castiglione seafront will become a small citadel of international sport, hosting the BT200 International Beach Tennis Tournament, one of the most important tournaments on the continental and intercontinental calendar for this sport. There will be 150 athletes from Italy and abroad, who will compete for a prize pool of 15,000 dollars, over 70 pairs of male and female players among the top 20 in the world. Along with the main competition, side tournaments for amateur athletes will take place with over 200 participants.
The municipal administration expresses great satisfaction for the realization of these two important sporting events which confirm Castiglione della Pescaia as the cradle of every sport and the fact that every year this municipality is chosen for increasingly high level sporting events such as these national championships which we care about hosting.
