The riders will leave Livigno by bike and, through the Alla Schera tunnel, enter Switzerland. At the exit, they get back into the car and continue to Prato allo Stelvio, where the official start will be at 2pm.

Today 16th stage, Livigno-Santa Cristina Valgardena, km 206. Meeting in Aquagranda from 10.05, departure at 11.25. From Bormio you climb towards the new Cima Coppi, the Giogo di Santa Maria- Umbrail Pass (2489 m): it is the Stelvio without the last 3 km due to heavy snowfall. That’s 16.7 km at 7% average. Then descent to Switzerland and return to Italy in Spondigna. Then Passo Pinei (1st category, 23.3 km) and the final climb to Santa Cristina-Monte Pana: tackled from Ortisei, 6.5 km at 6.1%. The last 2 km are at 11.8%, peaks of 16%. Bonuses 3”, 2” and 1” at the Intergiro finish line; 10”, 6” and 4” at the finish. In the last few hours there has also been talk of a possible cancellation of the Umbrail Pass due to the bad weather that could hit the affected area, with a direct downhill start, a hypothesis that would affect the race even more. The final decision could therefore be made before departure.
