During the long chat with Betsson.Sport, Romelu Lukaku spoke of the warmth of the fans Rome and the demonstrations of affection he received during this season. The Belgian centre-forward, fresh from his goal in the match against Alberto Gilardino’s Genoa, spent sweet words for the Giallorossi people, also indulging in a joke in Roman dialect.
Lukaku: “Impressed by the Olimpico, very nice experience in Rome”
“I have always been impressed by the Olympic Stadium,” admitted Lukaku. “When we enter the pitch to warm up we already feel the support of the fans and this gives you an extra incentive to do better. You know that the team is important for the people of this city and as a footballer you represent the entire city, it’s a very nice experience. The Roma fans are special, it’s very nice to experience their support.” A career full of successes and disappointments, between Italy, England and the Belgian national team: “It’s the story of my career, I’ve experienced disappointments many times, but I’ve always come back stronger than before. When they come I know I have to work harder”. In greeting the Roma supporters, Lukaku dedicated a message in perfect Roman dialect to all the Giallorossi people: “Nice rega, come on Rome come on”.
