The market, the youth strategy, the renewals of the big names and the relationship with Simone Inzaghi. Many topics were addressed by Dario Baccin, deputy sporting director of Inter, to the microphones of Sky Sport. “I have been lucky enough to have known Simone for over ten years, when he was coaching the Lazio youth team and I was in Palermo. He has never lost the humility that has always distinguished him, he is a respectable person, good but at the same time determined”, he says of the current coach. Then he adds: “Inzaghi has an immense passion for work and for the world of football, but also an obsessive knowledge of all aspects of football. With him and his staff we have made an important journey, even among the difficulties, we have managed to remain united and achieve very important results.”

On how the company moves on the market and on the organization of work: “We have a structure of observers coordinated by Piero (Ausilio, ed.) and me. We follow all the world championships a lot both on video and live. We have a very dense network of acquaintances which often allow us to have reports earlier than others. Then it’s not always possible to close the operations, but we try to be as present as possible throughout the world.” Then he adds: “South America is always full of interesting players, in this period Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Ecuador have started to provide good players, but these countries have also structured themselves with new agent agencies, it is much more complicated to go there and buy with competitive prices. The English and German teams move well in advance thanks also to the concessions on non-EU players and manage to sign very young players who are unattainable for us at the moment. But we continue to search that area because we are convinced that something good can be done.”

Among the South American talents followed in the past there are also Retegui and Julian Alvarez, today at Genoa and City. “We followed them, I won’t deny it, even in depth but to complete an operation many parameters must coincide at that moment, but also the possibility of being able to include them in the workforce. We liked them but for a series of reasons it was not possible to bring them to Milan like others. But we are happy with the ones we have.” The person who arrived at the Nerazzurri is the German defender Bisseck: “He was on a short-list that we had identified through our structure. He is young and compatible with our possibilities and his impact has impressed us, we are really happy with what he is doing.”
