Never stop believing it. It hasn’t been an easy few weeks for Jonas Vingegaardwinner of the last two editions of the Tour de France. The terrifying crash at the Tour of the Netherlands had caused him significant injuries: multiple fractures as well as a pneumothorax. More than a month after that serious accident in the fourth stage of the Basque stage race, Vingegaard is back on his bike, doing his first outdoor training.

It’s very nice to finally be able to ride again and finally do it on the road again. I look forward to measuring the progress of my work. I feel good and am improving day by day. Clearly, its presence at this year’s Grande Boucle stands outwhich was thought to be very unlikely due to the severity of the crash. There is an opening, however: “Of course I hope to be at the start of the Tour de France. We still don’t know how my condition will evolve and how my recovery will continue, but I’m doing everything I can to be in top shape for the big start in Florence“.
