The Giro d’Italia is about to arrive and Riccione lights up in pink, the symbolic color of the most loved and followed stage race on the international circuit. One week before the start of the 13th stage of the Giro d’Italia, scheduled for Friday 17 May, Riccione lights up its most significant places in pink in a big collective embrace that celebrates the approach of the great two-wheel event that will start in 13 from viale Ceccarini.
Starting from Friday 10th May and until Friday 17th, at nightfall (from 8pm to 3am) the buildings and points of greatest tourist interest will be dressed in magic thanks to the suggestive pink colored lights which will make the evening walk even more more welcoming: from the Palazzo dei Congressi to the Palazzo del Turismo, symbolic places of tourism and commerce, from the Art Nouveau villas that tell the story of a flourishing seaside past (Villa Mussolini, Villa Franceschi and Villa Lodi Fè) to the heart of the city, viale Ceccarini, from the fountains on the pedestrian promenade to the roundabouts that greet the visitor as soon as he arrives in Riccione.
All of Riccione is colored pink awaiting the 107th edition of the Giro d’Italia, the prestigious stage race which on 17 May will start from Riccione towards Cento, on the route dedicated to Romagna. “Riccione, a stage city, confirms the vocation of our city for sport and cycling in particular – comments the Tourism councilor, Mattia Guidi -. The cycling events, which have marked the calendar of initiatives since spring, culminate with this important event to underline ‘the infinite love’, the official slogan of the Giro d’Italia, that our city and our territory have for cycling, sports and sustainable tourism. I invite anyone who wants to join this great festival of lights, helping to color Riccione pink.”
