Italian victory in Sampeter, Slovenia. The blue ones of national women’s sitting volleyball team they beat Slovenia 3-0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-19) in the last match of the Golden Nations League 2024, obtaining first place and the consequent victory of the international event reserved for the strongest teams in the Paralympic discipline. The girls from Ribeiro therefore repeated last year’s success, when they raised the trophy to the sky in the Slovenian town. European Champions Italy opened the 2024 season in the best possible way by putting another important trophy on the board and giving important indications to technical commissioner Ribeiro on the preparation that will lead, as is known, to the Paralympic Games scheduled from 28 August to 8 September in Paris.

Today against Slovenia Bosio and his teammates offered yet another convincing performance, proving to be the strongest team in the Golden Nations League. The Italians closed this first tournament of the year with 5 victories in as many matches played, with 15 sets won and only 1 lost.

The start of the first set was characterized by the balance between the two teams who played point for point. As the action continued, the sporting battle intensified with Italy, leading 22-19, suffering a comeback from the Slovenians. After canceling a set point, the Italians won 26-24.
In the second, the Italian girls almost always kept the ball in their hands, rejecting every comeback attempt by their opponents until Captain Bosio’s winning block which set the score at 25-19.
In the third, Italy is still in control of the field (11-7). The Italians find a good advantage which they manage to manage expertly. Slovenia tries to have a surge of pride, but Italy firmly maintains command and wins the deserved victory 25-19.
