After more than two months of waiting, Trentino Itas can finally return to present itself with all its staff; Soli recovers Lavia and puts it diagonally to Michieletto again, Sbertoli acts as director, Rychlicki in the opposite role, Kozamernik and Podrascanin make up the central pair and Laurenzano is the libero. The yellow-blue start is very determined: Kozamernik blocks Syzmura and Rychlicki counterattacks for the initial 4-1; Jastrzebski has to wait a few rotations to respond with Huber (from 8-5 to 9-9), but then Michieletto and Podrascanin again deliver a new breakthrough (15-12). The Poles react again, bringing themselves to within one (18-17), before Lavia goes wild and blocks a Patry (21-18). It’s the decisive cue, because then Michieletto takes care of securing the advantage and increasing it in the final too (25-20).
In the second set Jastrzebski tries to change gear by starting with great momentum in the break phase (0-3), but Trento takes little time with Michieletto to settle the situation (4-4). The Poles have to give way to Alessandro’s ace and Rychlicki’s attacks (9-7, time out by Mendez), but Fornal goes wild and offers a new advantage to Jastrzebski (11-12). Kamil and Michieletto are still thinking about reversing the situation (19-17); the yellow-blues defended their advantage with teeth from Fornal’s outbursts at the net and in the serve and closed the score again with their number 5 at 25-22, flying to 2-0.
