Ducati once again monopolized the three steps of the podium in the last MotoGP race in Jerez. Pecco Bagnaia, Marc Marquez and Marco Bezzecchi achieved the top three positions, Monday’s test was equally important in putting an end to some embryonic problems on the Desmosedici GP24. The vibrations in the rear tire disappeared during the Spanish weekend, also thanks to an “anomalous” working method.

Test weekend in Jerez

In the preseason tests and in the first three Grands Prix of the ’24 season, the official Ducati complained of vibration problems that prevented it from expressing itself at its best. At Jerez the men in red adopted an innovative way of testing, due to the restrictions in terms of wildcards and private testing dictated by the new MotoGP concession system. The Andalusian Friday was used to provide useful data to the technicians and explore solutions. “We used Friday as a test and it was very helpful. We tried more things than normal and had no vibrations“, explained Pecco Bagnaia after Sunday’s victory.

In the Ducati factory garage they focused on different settings that could help on circuits with less grip, where the aforementioned vibrations emerge more. A job also with a view to Montmelò, an appointment on the MotoGP calendar scheduled for 24 to 26 May. It seems like a problem now over, even if further confirmation will be needed. “We have to wait to find out if we have solved the problem“, added the champion from Chivasso. The driving style also has a great influence, with changes in inclination when cornering which can deviate the trajectories.

The optimism of Martin and Tardozzi

At the moment Jorge Martin, leader of the standings despite his recent crash at home, seems more optimistic and decisive. “We have tried several solutions that can help and make us even faster. I am very happy with the performance and the progress we have made“. Team manager Davide Tardozzi echoes this. “We still had vibrations on the bike and we focus on that. The engineers worked hard over the weekend, we believe we have found some solutions. We will continue along this line to resolve the problem completely, but we are satisfied“.
