Behind the scenes at Jerez
“Come on, you have some GP24 on you”. A man from the Gresini team joked like this Marc Marquez at the end of the Spanish Grand Prix the eight-time world champion finished in second place, his first podium with Ducati in a Sunday race. Marquez and Bagnaia fought for the victory and between the two there was also a contact with the Italian rider’s front wheel which slightly hit the shoulder and arm of the Gresini rider.
This sentence is just one of many pearls contained in the images published by MotoGP relating to behind the scenes of the post-race in Jerez. In Parc Fermé Marc Marquez underlines that he is 32 points away from the top of the championship “after such a shitty start” it’s still a bargain”.
The exchange between Marc Marquez and himself was also beautiful Davide Tardozzi. The rider jokes with the team manager of the official Ducati team by underlining that he owes him a new suit and that he will tell Nadia (Padovani, owner of the Gresini team) to send an invoice. Tardozzi replied to Marquez that he and Bagnaia put on an incredible show. “When I’m there you know I try”Marquez said to Tardozzi, who replied “Come on? You know they asked me ‘are you happy with Marc?’ and I replied ‘fuck it’”.
Even if the victory didn’t arrive in the Gresini team’s garage, it still happened big party for second place for Marc Marquez and fourth for Alex Marquez. The next objective is victory, but against a Ducati GP-24 that is so more effective in acceleration and on the straights it won’t be easy.
