A challenging match against a team in form that aims to reach the play-offs with the wind in their sails. However, the yellow and blacks have no intention of lowering their guard but rather, they are highly motivated to continue the positive streak of seven consecutive victories which saw them as protagonists in the second round of the tournament.

“Sunday will be a special match, we have achieved our objective and they are looking for big loot to get to the play-offs with greater confidence,” he explains Roberto Quartaroli, backfield coach of Isweb Avezzano Rugby. “With Sunday’s celebrations behind us, we put the focus on the away match in Prato where we aim to play a good match to put the icing on the cake in a championship which, for us, was exciting. We managed the week by finding the right balance between the recovery of the players and the technical load for those who will take to the field. As a club we continue to have the objective of developing our players and the values of the entire group, both from a mental and technical point of view.

Performing a good performance, without underestimating the match because it is not useful for the rankings, is a further step towards mental growth that we care a lot about.”

“We players are thinking about the present and about Sunday’s match in Prato, where we will face the second strongest team in the championship. We want to express a good game and renew the determination that has characterized us so far. We want to end a wonderful and exciting championship on a high note,” said the prop Marco Mocerino which are echoed by the words of the wing midfielder Bogdan Georgescu: “We are motivated to close the tournament in the best possible way. Prato is a very well-prepared team from all points of view, which is why a great performance will be needed.”

We are aware that it will be a tough match but we will face it with the right spirit without having anything to lose. Despite the inconsistent progress of the first part of the season, we have always believed that, by working hard and uniting more and more as a group every day, we could achieve the objective set out in focus at the beginning of the year. This was our real strength and what made the difference in the second part of the season, also and above all in the difficult moments that occurred during some matches. Personally, I am very satisfied with the season which is coming to an end because it marks a historic point for this club which welcomed me almost five years ago and which has made me feel more and more at home.”
