A great day of sport, fun, but also solidarity. In Laigueglia, on Saturday 4 May, the “Cross-country skiing on the beach” returns, organized by the Eccoci agency with the contribution of Bottero Ski and the Municipality and various local and national companies that have supported the event promoted in favor of Airc Foundation.
Five super champions present at the event which will take place on the beach of the Laiguegliese seaside village: Elisa BrocardAlessandra Merlin, Corrado Barbera, the former alpine skiing champion Luca Pesando and also a young multi-medalist from Bergamo Stefano Negroni. A star of the white circus who came second in the relay at the Santa Caterina Italian pupils’ championships, second in the individual at the Santa Caterina Italian pupils’ championships, second also at the Riale regional pupils’ pursuit championships and fourth in the Schilpario individual Italian Ride pupils’ cup.
«After the exciting week dedicated to beach volleyball, with many tourists who followed the tournaments with champions and children, we are preparing to experience another equally important weekend, always dedicated to outdoor activities. Cross-country skiing on the beach is scheduled for Saturday which will see the participation of many skiing champions and teams from all over Italy; on Sunday then, between the coast and the hill of our village, the trail Between earth and sky, Marco Foschi memorial, will be run, another sporting event that our Municipality has always sponsored with the aim of supporting outdoor activities for make known the beauties of our Laigueglia».
Everything is therefore ready for the great event that will take place in one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The “Cross-country skiing on the beach”, is a spectacular event that every year enchants the public who enthusiastically follows the challenges on the Laigueglie coast. «This year’s – continues Marco Doctor – it is a truly special edition: it will mark the twinning with another event “Between sea and sky”, the Marco Foschi trail memorial scheduled for Sunday 5 May, again in Laigueglia. There will also be no shortage of curiosities and news, starting with the partnership with the newspaper “Italian Fund”».
There will be many teams at the starting line: Clusone (BG), Ponte di Legno (BS), Serravalle Scrivia (AL), Valle Stura (CN), Pragelato (TO), Valle Pesio (CN), Valle Ellero (CN), Valsavarenche (AO) Prali (TO), Subiaco (ROME). Additional teams are expected to participate at registration on Saturday morning. «The one scheduled for Saturday 4 May – continues Marco Doctor – it will be an edition dedicated to solidarity and inclusiveness with the participation of the Prali Special Olympics ski club. The event, as always, will be of a recreational-sports nature and this year too will see teams from different ski resorts competing on the beach, but also local teams who will do everything to defend the honor of their flag».
The program of the event foresees that on the sand of Laigueglia – from the municipal baths in front of Piazza Garibaldi to the baths of the Aquilia sailing school (including the part of the beach dedicated to professional fishermen and that of non-professionals), the sailing competitions will take place cross country skiing (official teams and junior teams), biathlon, fat biking, sledging, snowshoe running. He won’t even miss the aquatic march.

The organization of Cross-country skiing on the beach 2024 is organized by ” Eccoci Eventi ” of Alassio. The day will have charitable purposes, through a fundraiser in favor of the AIRC Foundation for Cancer Research (for information: www.scidifondonthebeach.com). They support the “Bottero Ski” event in Limone Piemonte, in co-participation with the Municipality of Laigueglia and with all the city associations and categories (media partner TGevents Television which will then broadcast a long report on the event).
