Serie A2 – The preview of Game 2 of the playouts on May 1st

Game 2 of the Serie A2 playouts begins, with four matches on the pitch on Wednesday 1 May.

Vigarano Basketball – Turin Teen Basket
Game 2 of the first round of the playout between Pallacanestro Vigarano and Torino Teen Basket is scheduled for this evening at 6pm (Wednesday, 6pm, live LBF TV). In Game 1 the Emilian team achieved the upset, managing to win at the home of the Piedmontese team and therefore putting themselves in a very favorable position, that of playing the match point at home after reversing the home court factor. Vigarano commanded the match from start to finish, never giving his opponents an advantage of more than two points. Siciliano and Cutrupi were once again the protagonists of the match, the former with 33 points and 7 rebounds with 69% shooting, the latter with a double double of 14 points and 14 rebounds. Vigarano managed to limit Torino’s attack, forcing them to shoot 37% from the field and limited turnovers to 10, while the defense of the Piedmontese team was unable to stem the talent of their opponents – and of the two protagonists in particular – given that Vigarano finished with 59% from two points. From three Vigarano played a good game with 40%, while on the other side Torino didn’t go beyond 28% and didn’t even manage to break down the 60-point barrier. Giangrasso was the top scorer with 16 points and it is from her and Cristelo Alves that Torino will have to start again to try to extend the series and, consequently, its season. The road will not be easy for the Piedmontese team, given that Torino won only four away matches during the regular season.

Basketball Rome – Basketball Girls Ancona
Also at 6pm, Game 2 between Basket Roma and Basket Girls Ancona will also take place (Wednesday, 6pm, live LBF TV). The home court factor also failed in this series, given that Ancona managed to conquer the Rome parquet in Game 1, thanks to the 57-64 victory. The Marche team managed to take home the victory thanks above all to the performance of Dinga-Mbomi, who scored 28 points and 4 rebounds, with 3 steals and was the only player on her team in double figures. Ancona’s hopes of finishing the season as soon as possible pass right into the hands of number 34, who was the best of them even at the end of the season. The red and whites also played a good rebounding game, managing to beat Roma in what is usually one of the Capitoline’s strong points: 43-37 the final rebound count, even if Roma did better in offensive rebounding (11- 3). Both teams will have to try to be more precise from beyond the arc (31% Ancona, 25% Roma): Ancona managed to compensate for this lack with 50% from two points, while Roma struggled a lot, making only 30 % of his shots. For Roma it will be essential to try to contain Dinga-Mbomi’s physicality, trying to make the most of her strength under the basket. However, Rome has only won one away match this season, in the derby against Stella Azzurra, while Ancona has found most of its successes at home.

Carugate Bathroom Size – Solmec Rovigo
In the second part of the scoreboard the field remained untouched and this evening at 6pm two teams will try to defend their parquet. Dimensione Bagno Carugate is ready to return to the field to try to put the series back on a draw against Solmec Rovigo (Wednesday, 6pm, live LBF TV). In Game 1 the Venetian team dominated for the entire forty minutes, never allowing their opponents to take the lead: despite Carugate’s comeback attempts, Rovigo remained in front for the entire match. In Game 2 it will be essential for Carugate to find the attack again, given that in Game 1 the points scored were only 52, with no player reaching double figures. Rovigo, however, sent two players into double figures for points and two for rebounds, forcing their opponents into 24 turnovers. However, what made the difference was the defense of the Venetians, who recovered 15 balls against only 8 of their opponents. Carugate shot slightly better from two-point range (47% vs. 43%), but sank from beyond the arc, where she shot just 8%, compared to 28% for her opponents. Now the Lombard team is called upon to defend its parquet, something it has managed to do only four times this season.

Tecnoengineering Moncalieri – Velcofin Interlocks Vicenza
In conclusion, the last match scheduled this evening is the challenge between Tecnoengineering Moncalieri and Velcofin Interlocks Vicenza (Wednesday, 6pm, live LBF TV). Game 1 was a very complicated match for both teams from an offensive point of view, in fact neither team managed to go beyond 60 points. Vicenza managed to take home the victory thanks to the good performance of Marta Pellegrini, who scored 17 in 22 minutes coming off the bench and above all thanks to its defense. The Venetian team in fact forced its opponents into 27 turnovers and these were a decisive factor, also considering the fact that Moncalieri shot with slightly higher percentages. Vicenza, as usual, was also excellent in steals, in fact it recovered 15 balls against the 10 of its opponents and was even colder in the final stages of the match, closing the practice in the final minutes of the fourth quarter. To try to rebalance the series, Moncalieri will first of all have to limit turnovers and will also have the field factor on their side: the Lunettes at home have been on a winning streak for three games, while Vicenza away from home have only won on four occasions this season.
