The captain of the men’s Itas Trentino Marko Podrascanin was a guest on the weekly episode of “RTTR Volley”, a long interview that retraced the stages and career of the Serbian champion, who is preparing to make an assault on winning the Champions League next Sunday League, with the shirt that he honored for 4 seasons and which he will no longer wear after the Super Final in Antalya.
With these words, Potke confirmed that he will no longer play with Itas and that for now his horizon after the Champions League is only the VNL with the Serbian sextet: “Nothing planned apart from the national team. Yes, it’s true, I want to close this beautiful adventure in Trento where I truly found myself at God’s end for four years. First I thought about coming here and doing two years with this great company, but I felt so good that I extended another two years. – he declared during the broadcast – Now certainly speaking with the club, it’s time to change, to take another path because it’s obvious at 36, almost 37 years old… it’s a normal thing in our sport in general. I am an athlete who definitely cannot stay and cannot always play at the current level, so a right choice.”
It cannot be said that you have deserved this year… “Thank you, I’m always trying my hardest, as they say. But, I repeat, I truly thank the fans, the club, the whole city of Trento where I had a really great time, a wonderful place, the whole region lives for the world of volleyball, not only the staff, but also all the fans of Trento, that’s why I said that for me, and I believe also for the club, this last match on May 5th would be the icing on the cake.”
