Sasha Grantguard/small forward born in Cagliari to an English father of Jamaican origin and a Sardinian mother and raised at Bayern Munich, spoke about the challenge of his UNAHOTELS on Sunday in Sassari, a way to return to his original Sardinia in the columns of the “Gazzetta di Reggio ”.
Back to the origins. “It gives me great pleasure to play in Sassari, it’s the first time I’ve done it, it’s a special occasion, in the first year I played basketball there was the Reggio-Sassari championship final, I grew up watching those matches on television. The chance to play in these arenas, those in Reggio and Sassari, is a pleasure. Just as I am happy to return to the island and see my family, who will be at the race. It will be a great experience and I hope to be able to contribute.”
Sasha Grant also proved to be an excellent piece in coach Priftis’ mosaic against Napoli. “I had the chance to help out, I always try to do my best, this has been a season of great experiences for me, very useful for improving. This is also a great aspect, this last phase was very important to reach a goal that we had in mind since the beginning of the season. And the fact that I was able to directly help the team on the pitch is a source of pride, I’m happy for the results and for being able to contribute.”
The away match in Sassari could allow the red and whites to secure 5th place. “We want to win to secure fifth place. We will be careful not to underestimate Sassari, they have many quality players, they know how to play and we have often struggled away from home, even if we have changed trend in the last period.”
