Leclerc vs Hamilton in 2025
The 2024 season has just started, with five GPs contested out of the 24 total scheduled this year, but very often we already imagine what the future of Lewis Hamilton in Ferrari. In 2025, in fact, the Englishman will arrive in Maranello and find himself Charles Leclerc as a new teammate, and for some former riders it will be at that point that the difficulties for the Monegasque will begin in the internal struggle with the seven-time world champion.
The obstacle of sweetness
The Dutchman is also convinced of this Robert Doornbos, who in the two-year period 2005-2006 took part in 11 races in total at the wheel of Minardi and Red Bull. Now a television commentator, the 42-year-old expressed his opinion on Leclerc’s future and how the latter’s personality could seriously hinder him in the challenge with Hamilton or, more generally, in winning the title: “Charles Leclerc is too sweet to become world champion of Formula 1 – he explained to Ziggo Sports – he can’t do what the world champion does, and he can’t do what Hamilton or Verstappen can do. Suppose Ferrari builds the best car for next season. At that point will be devoured by Hamilton. Leclerc simply has a certain roughness when it comes to mistakes or dealing with his engineers.”
The first signals from Rosberg
A goodness that a world champion like Nico Rosberg had the opportunity to underline last year after the Italian GP, when the two Ferrari drivers fought for 3rd place. The challenge was resolved in Sainz’s favour, with the Monegasque finishing behind him. However, at the end of the race, the German was surprised by the #16’s comments, in which he praised his teammate underlining how the battle was reminiscent of his karting days: “I looked at Charles when he got excited about the race and the duel, and I wondered if he was saying the opposite of what he meant, but he seemed very sincere – he said at the time in Monza – I think he’s a little too kind. He had already lost in strategy the day before, when he allowed the team to follow Carlos’ trail twice instead of dividing it between the two riders. I don’t know, maybe Leclerc is really very kind, but I think it’s a bit much”.
