The first beach volleyball school in Salento was born in 2022 and immediately there was a boom in members, great participation and national tournaments played for the first time on our beaches.
A movement that has become large and aims for national events and a women’s B series.
Antonio Francone and Marco Conte, federal coaches with over 15 years of experience in beach volleyball and volleyball, have created a movement that boasts over one hundred and forty members in 2023, a women’s team of excellence placed in first place in the AIBVC national ranking, (Italian Beach Volleyball Association) and two other excellent men’s teams qualified for the Finals, the finals of the national championship which will take place from 3 to 5 May in Cesenatico and which could take the BVO girls directly to Serie B.
Alongside them is a team of highly qualified coaches, Marcello Gennaro and Valeria Cristofaro, names already known in the volleyball environment for their long CV as athletes.
With all these resources the company is able to offer training programs that cover all ages and all skill levels, in which every athlete, beginner or expert, can find their own space to grow and be motivated to improve.
The company’s vision, however, does not stop here and the BVO projects itself into the national circuit, as athletes but also as promoters of sporting events.
In fact, the company will be busy with the organization of the “BPER Beach Volley Italia Tour” and for the second consecutive year, it will host the only stage of the AIBVC national championship in Southern Italy.
The event will be held on 30, 31 August and 1 September at the Lido Smeraldo in Frigole, for three days of intense competitions, in which spectators will have the opportunity to witness a sporting show of the highest level, with the best couples on the scene national team ready to compete on our sand.
The event, which embraces both the men’s and women’s categories with athletes from all over Italy, represents an opportunity to appreciate and learn about the energy that only a sport like beach volleyball can give.
The objective, therefore, is to make beach volleyball in Salento an increasingly structured sport, to be practiced not only in summer but all year round, aiming to guarantee constant participation in both regional and national events and achieve a high technical level of the athletes and athletes.
The vision is clear: to become a beacon of beach volleyball not only in Puglia, but throughout Italy, actively contributing to the promotion of the sport and its most important values and creating a deep-rooted sporting fabric by aiming at the very young, who will then be the future of this school.
