JOrge Martin comments on his race in Jerez in interviews and still can’t explain the fall that occurred halfway through the race.

About today’s incident…

“It’s a shame for what happened, today I was stronger than yesterday especially on Marc. Pecco was pushing and I continued to stay in front. I was trying to save the rear for the end of the race, I was concentrated and at ease: I felt that the bike was moving, but I didn’t expect to fall at that point, because I was really at the beginning of the corner and the bike was straight. We need to understand and improve for the future. Maybe there were some corners where I took more risks. but that wasn’t one of them: I saw the data, I braked at the same point. I don’t think it’s even a question of tire pressure: I don’t understand the reason for the crash, we’ll see later.”

On Pecco’s race…

“I saw that Pecco was in a bit of difficulty, but I tried to always maintain the same pace: I intended to start pushing 2 or 3 laps later, when the tires would have been more consistent, but at that moment I just wanted to be constant and That’s why it’s frustrating. If I had pushed harder, I would certainly have understood Pecco today, his pace was incredible: I wouldn’t have been able to match his times.”

What do you save from the Jerez GP?

“We will understand and find the solution to what happened: I am calm about this. Compared to last season we improved in Jerez, which is my objective and the safe one for this Grand Prix. I crashed after leading for 10 laps , it’s better to fall first than to fight at the back, yesterday I won and I was really competitive both in the wet and in the dry so I’m calm, we still have many races ahead and we have to look at one GP at a time , I still scored 12 points, which isn’t bad and we still have tomorrow to improve in some areas. I’m not worried about anything in particular, maybe a little about not finishing the race today.”

Have you made any changes to the bike this weekend?

“We didn’t make any changes to the bike this weekend, we have ideas to improve but this wasn’t the track to try them on”
