advances to Madrid in just over an hour

The streak of derby wins continues for Jannik Sinnerwhich easily qualifies for the round of 16 of the Masters 1000 in Madrid. Everything was really easy for the South Tyrolean against Lorenzo Sonegowith the latter managing to win just three games in a match totally dominated by the number two in the world, who won with a score of 6-0 6-3 after just an hour and ten minutes of play.

An excellent debut for Sinner, who left his friend and doubles partner no chance. The South Tyrolean scored 83% of the points when he served the first, finishing with sixteen winners and only five unforced errors against Sonego’s twelve.

The first set is a monologue by Sinner. The match begins with ten consecutive points for the South Tyrolean, who breaks Sonego’s serve to zero in the second game. The world number two continued his dominance with a break in the fourth and then in the sixth game, closing the score at 6-0 in just 26 minutes of play.

Sonego finally manages to make a game at the start of the second set, but after canceling a break point anyway. The Piedmontese, however, he gives up the serve again in the fourth game, with Sinner then running away at 4-1. The South Tyrolean doesn’t concede anything and ends up with a score of 6-3.

In the next round Sinner will face the winner of the match between the Russian Pavel Kotov and the Australian Jordan Thompson, whose match was interrupted in the very early stages by rain.
