Tomorrow, in Rende, starting at 3.30 pm, the Senior men’s team of Ragusa Rugby, after the brilliant second place in the Sicilian regular season, will play for access to the play-offs against the third place in the Campania-Puglia group, namely IV Benevento Club.
“An opportunity – explains technical director Angelo Iozzia – which goes beyond the minimum objectives set for our season. It’s a way, yet another, to deal with teams and realities that we don’t know, neither from a technical nor competitive point of view, and to do so aware of our means and the fact that we want to have fun. No particular challenge, just the desire to meet friends and athletes on the field who, like us, face these matches with enthusiasm and passion. The field, as always, will say who is the best. We face every match with the right spirit, as if it were our last.”
If they were to win, Ragusa Rugby would enter the play-off phase, facing the other already qualified teams, starting from 5 May, with home and away matches.
Also tomorrow, for the Under 16s, triangular in Catania with Briganti di Librino and Milazzo.
“They couldn’t wait to get on the pitch – Iozzia further underlines – also because the last official match dates back to several weeks ago. The group has always trained, has maintained all its members, but the field is another story. We needed it, and finally we are here, in this second phase of the season for the category which gives us hope, given the desire, enthusiasm and cohesion that distinguishes our boys”.
