The Cuban press learned on Thursday that the purchase of a “ball shooter” (service) for the development of Cuban volleyball was an initiative of the players themselves.
“It is important to underline that (the purchase, already made) was born from an initiative of the players themselves. The Cuban Federation has other priorities in its investment project and the players themselves understood the need and made this investment,” said the head of the Cuban Volleyball Federation, Ariel Sainz Rodríguez, in a conversation with the press.
“This purchase will facilitate a set of processes from a technical development perspective. And it will serve not only those who made the investment, but also other colleagues and Cuban volleyball in general,” he added.
He assured that the car “is on its way”, although he clarified that “it will not arrive in this initial part” in view of the VNL.
He revealed that the promoter of the initiative is Marlon Yant Herrera (Lube Civitanova), a boy of only 22 years old, and said that “everyone agrees with each other for the investment, which demonstrates the level of professionalism they are acquiring”. .
He recalled that in Cuban sport there have been similar experiences in baseball, with Alfredo Despaigne, Livan Moinelo and others, and it is important that it reaches volleyball.
