Eusebio Di Francesco finds victory in the darkest night for Salernitana. In the advance of the 34th matchday, Frosinone savors the taste of 3 points again after more than three months (the last success was dated 21 January) and condemns the Campania team to relegation mathematics after 3 years of Serie A. It is the second Serie A verdict after the Scudetto won by Inter. For Salernitana, however, it was a predictable epilogue in a troubled season with 15 points in 34 matches and 4 changes of coaches who were unable to reverse the trend. From tomorrow in Salerno it will be the future but with many unknowns starting from the club structure. Dragged by incessant cheering, Frosinone breathes, jumps to 31 and while waiting for tomorrow’s and Sunday’s matches, they leave the relegation zone, moving to +3 from the Udinese third from last and catching Empoli and Verona. A clear success after 12 fast races, the fifth useful result in a row, which gives confidence in view of the final sprint for salvation. Soulé’s return to scoring is good news for Di Francesco. Meanwhile, Di Francesco relies on the 3-4-2-1 which has guaranteed a good balance in recent weeks. Three defenders (Lirola, Romagnoli and Okoli) in front of Turati. The Campania team are dangerous in the 28th minute thanks to a header from Coulibaly following a cross from Bradaric. Then there is an attempt by Bradaric in the 34th minute while Vignato scores but is offside. The second half starts again with two new features: in Frosinone goalkeeper Turati goes out due to a cut on his right hand and Cerofolini comes in, Pierozzi out for Salernitana due to injury and Pasalidis in. Low pace with Frosinone looking for ball possession to put the match to sleep and not complicate their lives. In the 31st minute, Salernitana had a great chance to shorten the score: Gomis, who had just come on, missed Coulibaly’s cross into an empty net. In the 40th minute, however, Zortea chased away the fears on the counterattack by sealing the 3-0 with a left-footed shot from outside the area. First goal at Frosinone for the former Atalanta player. Frosinone hopes, Salernitana says goodbye to Serie A.
