Giro d’Italia 2024: fourteenth stage Castiglione delle Stiviere-Desenzano del Garda. Route, date and altimetry: long stopwatch

Another crucial junction of the 2024 Giro d’Italia is scheduled for Saturday 18 Maywhen the fourteenth stage will take place time trial along the Lombardy roads that starts from Castiglione delle Stiviere and arrives on the lakeside of Desenzano del Garda. It will be the second time course of the Crosa Rosa, which this year winks at the time trialists with over 70 km expected in this specialty.

PATH

There are no particular altitude difficulties, for a time trial of 31 kilometers and two hundred meters which will see the true specialists of racing against time competing for success. The first part is quite tortuous to leave Castiglione, with the first intermediate stage in Solferino after 7.8 km. From this moment the road will begin to be less and less complex, with some shortcomings still present, passing through Pozzolengo (after a long dispute with the municipality was resolved at the last moment which did not seem willing to let the caravan pass through its streets ) to arrive at the second chronometric measurement at the passage under the San Martino tower. Shortly afterwards you will arrive on the panoramic road that runs along Lake Garda, immediately after passing Sirmione, to proceed towards Desenzano. Pay attention to the many roundabouts in this last part, with the two 90° bends in the last 500 meters before arriving in the historic center.
