The Spaniard shakes up the rider market by launching a provocation to the factory team: “I deserve a team all to myself”
Jorge Martin issues the ultimatum to Ducati. The Spaniard, vice world champion and current leader of the general classification, is in fact eager to discover the intentions for the future of the official team which, after having confirmed Bagnaia, will have to decide on the second driver. And Martin, who had already seen the opportunity slip away in 2022, no longer wants to remain in the Prima Pramac satellite team, threatening a sensational farewell: “I know they have faith in me, but if I don’t get where I want in Ducati I’ll go away to a factory team“
“In 2022 it went like this, both Bastianini and I wanted to go to the official team. I wasn’t able to get results and Ducati saw that Enea was doing better and it’s normal that they took him. Last year they wanted to, but they couldn’t ‘It was a possibility because there were contracts in between. This year however everything is free and we will really see the trust they have in me. I know they have faith in me, but we’ll see if they have it 100%” Martin’s words to Sky Sport.
And in the preview of the interview, the Spanish rider does not use half measures to make his thoughts understood: “I think that my story must continue in Ducati with the official team. If it isn’t like this I will leave, I have to have a factory team to dream and having a team all to myself will definitely come next year.”
