The leading standard bearer of the VR46 team, Marco Bezzecchi, is among the most promising Italian centaurs of his generation. Here is all the info on the rider from Rimini.
Marco Bezzecchi is already in his third year in MotoGP. After Valentino Rossi’s retirement in 2021, the Romagna native was rewarded with the saddle of the Desmosedici of the VR46 team. Given the limited experience of the young riders, probably not even Valentino Rossi would have imagined fighting against the Pramac team from the Borgo Panigale company and the Pramac team in 2023.
In 2022, at the Dutch Grand Prix, he finished second, celebrating the first podium for the Doctor’s team in MotoGP. He also recorded the title of best rookie of the season. Last year the Bez, as it is called in the Paddock, achieved excellent results.
In Argentina he came second in the SR, behind Brad Binder and won the race with merit. At Le Mans he scored his second top class victory. If in 2023 the rider from Romagna achieved great results, thanks to a very high profile Desmosedici, now the hierarchies have changed. The GP24s made clear steps forward, while the GP23 seemed to suddenly regress, even in comparison with KTM and Aprilia. The start of the championship was rather difficult. After two years alongside Valentino Rossi’s younger brother, Luca Marini, in 2024 Marco was paired with Fabio Di Giannantonio. Together they make up one of the most promising pairs on the grid.
Bezzecchi’s salary
The riders of Valentino Rossi’s Academy, even at the top levels, do not receive pharaonic sums. Marco Bezzecchi earns 250 thousand euros a year, excluding sponsors. He is among the lowest paid riders on the MotoGP grid. For economic, but above all technical, reasons, last winter he was tempted by the possibility of moving to Pramac.
Zarco’s exit finally opened the doors for Morbidelli. Bez’s wish would have been to be able to challenge the top riders of the Borgo Panigale company on the same bike. In the end he made a heartfelt choice to remain in the VR46 team. He feels like he is part of a big family and the ultimate goal will be to arrive on the Red through the front door one day, or rather by signing for the official racing team.

Her name is Chiara and, in numerous interviews, the rider has spoken of her importance. They met in Rimini, although Marco prefers not to share images with his partner on his social profiles.

The number 72 of the grid is 174 cm tall and weighs 71 kg. The class of 1998 was born on 12/11/1998 in Rimini. Marco is very attached to his land and has decided not to move. He lives with his partner in his hometown. For now he has obtained a third place in Moto3 in 2018, a third place in Moto2 in 2021 and a bronze medal in the ranking also in MotoGP in 2023. He has won 9 races and obtained 32 podiums in his career in the MotoGP.
