Beach volleyball warms up a cold deck

Ten thousand participants: record edition for Kiklos Young Volley on the beach, from tomorrow to Sunday. A fundamental driving force for the hundred hotels open in the city, penalized by the cancellations that have rained down in recent days, after the arrival of winter. At least the cold. This is what Aia president Simona Pagliarani explains. “Fortunately, many private clients cancel, but fortunately the groups – he adds – from volleyball players to those taking part in the Rinnovamento nell’ Spirito fair in Rimini, come anyway. And they guarantee a good filling of the rooms”. The volleyball players also had to be placed in hotel facilities in nearby locations, from Valverde to the north of Rimini. Special and regulated prices for groups, however “not very low, around 45-50 euros for full board, higher for private customers”.

“In these last few hours the weather is improving – he adds –, so many, if they see the sun, could reach our location last second”. Hotels open even without heating, ‘hoping’ for mild weather. “More than a hundred could have opened – adds Aia – but the majority of hoteliers chose to wait until the second half of May, with Pentecost which this year, like Easter, falls rather early. However, the opportunity is also to tests with the staff in view of the upcoming summer season”. Meanwhile, they explain from Kiklos, “the final preparations are underway for the 23rd edition of the Young Volley on the beach powered by Cisalfa Sport: a real record edition that will bring 10,000 participants from all over Italy to the beaches of Bellaria Igea Marina, confirming itself as the largest youth beach volleyball tournament in Italy and Europe”.

As many as 6,500 athletes range from eight to nineteen years old, and “they are ready to crush and 3,500 companions (coaches, managers and accompanying families) are ready to cheer. 130 companies have registered, of which 10% are freshmen in their first experience” . The game is played along 22 beach resorts, where 200 courts have been set up, “which will become the stage for a breathtaking show between competition and fun. There has been a boom in memberships, already in the very first weeks after registrations opened: the hotel cooperative Turismhotels has coordinated over 90 structures, from Bellaria to neighboring towns such as Gatteo, Villamarina, San Mauro Mare towards Cesenatico and Torre Pedrera, Viserbella and Viserba towards Rimini”. “We are very ready – comments Rossano Armellini, founding member of Kiklos – to welcome the Young Volleyball crowd: it will be an incredible edition”.
