Motorcycle and scooter fans can finally enjoy some good news, after a period in which there had been very little. For example, the allocation of a new 17 million ecobonus was dedicated only to zero-emission modelswhich was not appreciated by purists, who have no intention of switching to batteries.
However, the good news does not concern a change of views on this aspect, but on the certainty that a large group will continue to produce in our country. As we know, nowadays this is by no means a certainty, since the big giants are moving to areas where labor costs less, such as Asia or Eastern Europe.

A completely different move has now been made official by the Piaggiowhich evidently believes in our potential, and which has just announced a huge investment.
Piaggio, a dream announcement has arrived
The group Piaggio had recently presented a development plan for the Pontedera plant, where the headquarters of this brand is also located, as well as its main production site. Well, the Ministry for Business and Made in Italy has now approved everything, which means that the 112 million euro investment to expand production in Pontedera can start. This is excellent news for workers and for our entire country, in which this two-wheel giant wants to continue to believe.
The industrial development plan has been defined as E-Mobility, since at its center there is the search for mobility that can be more sustainable. In fact, there is the aim of renewing its offer, going to present a range of new generation electric modelsbut also five industrial research projects and an experimental development for new components.
In particular, in addition to electric models, there is all the desire to develop new safety and vehicle monitoring systems, so as to be able to trace them more quickly in the event of theft, but also to identify any problems and defects in almost real time. Furthermore, the focus is on advanced driver assistance systems, in order to avoid accidents and falls at any time.
Furthermore, we want to create a sort of independence from Asian suppliers, who dominate in the field of components. The goal is to do everything at home as happened in the past, producing new technologies on its own. Piaggio is a giant that has all it takes to succeed in its aim, and with an investment of this type, new doors are opened for the future.
