Eleven athletes from National track cycling team underwent two days of aerodynamic testing at the Wind tunnel of the Politecnico di Milano.
The technicians of the Institute of Sports Medicine and Science of CONES and those from Italian Cycling Federation (with Team Performance) carried out the tests under the guidance of the national team manager Roberto Amadio and the Track Sector coach Marco Villa.
These are particularly important studies in view of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games because they represent the latest possibilities for optimizing the aerodynamics, personalized for each athlete, of the different combinations of positions and adjustments on the saddle, handlebars, wheels, frames, helmets and suits. The tests took place at wind speeds between 50 and 80 km/h depending on the athletes and the different types of races to be examined.
